Anyone who watched this year's Super Bowl saw the same thing we did: Troy Aikman, the quarterback of the Cowboys, throwing a succession of perfect passes. After a while, we began to wonder exactly how he does it. How tightly does he grip the ball? Where do his fingers go? How does he position his feet? But considering those questions made us ponder an even bigger one: How does anyone do anything? How does Barbara Jordan write such resonant speeches? How does George Strait get that razor‑sharp crease in his jeans? How does Georgette Mosbacher put on her lipstick so flawlessly? We decided to find out. We asked these famous Texans and nearly fifty others to explain how they do what they do. They told us; now we're telling you.

HOW TO RIDE A BULL
by Larry Mahan

215R-485-009
Before the gate is open, find the correct position on top of the bull and stay there. Stick your hand in the rope and stay as close to the back of your hand as possible. If you get back off your rope, a bull has a tendency to whip you down over his front end and slam dunk you onto the ground.
Larry Mahan, who lives in Camp Verde, has won six world rodeo championships‑more than anyone in history.
